OK...I know I'm long over due for an upadte

Sorry for being out of touch for so LONG!!

Things were REALLY crazy since the end of September.

Here's the begiinning of my adventure for the past several weeks so far!!!

First, I had a family crisis that I had to take care of...my mom, who was also in Thailand, not Bangkok, was having health problems, but luckily a change in location has drastically made improvements and she is doing GREAT now.

Second, event was that I decided to not continue with the Webster program in Bangkok and instead I plan to transfer to one of Webster's European campuses. After completing the first 8 week term, I realized that I was feeling incredibly stressed out with not only living in Thailand, but with trying to get enough resources of aa major paper I had to do and problems with Webster's Administration.

With both of us not feeling that great about being in Thailand, we decided to go to somewhere we'd both enjoy...that destination turned out to be Nepal were THANKFULLY, really good friends of mine are currently living and helping in running the family's HUGE trekking/tourism company. We've both been enjoying our time here so much that I competely forgot about keeping everyone updated since we've been here for the past 2 weeks.

I'll share more about Nepal as soon as I can upload my pixs and have access to WIFI which will be in a couple of days...right now I'm in Namche, the last major resting point before trekking to Everest Base Camp where high speed intermet is SLOW!!

First week of class

Ok...despite the classes being Tuesday and Wednesday from 6-10pm, they really weren't that exciting. However, everyone in my Research and Methods class are starting to slightly panic as we should be coming up with ideas for our thesis within the next month. Part of this is because the two MAJOR assignments we have for the class are geared to help us with our thesis...one is a proposal and the other is a lit review. As for the program size, it is actually quite large with approx 15 people. 90% are from America and the other are a few Thais, Dutch (studying at Webster's main campus in St Louis) and a Chinese. As for backgrounds, I appear to be the only one with a background in International Relations. Everyone else is in business...however there is one guy who has worked in conflict zones so, he at least, has some real life experience.

As for the agenda for the rest of the week? I'll hopefully get my Thai classes figured out, do some more sightseeing and look for an internship!

Ok...I drank Butterfly Pee!!

So the last two weeks have been crazy and, at times, relaxing. So, after I arrived in Bangkok, I headed down south with my Dad who flew down from China, to Hua Hin, a tiny beach resort just south of Bangkok. Intrestingly enough, it also happens to be the winter home for the King. Upon arriving at the resort, we were offered the resorts special drink...butterfly pee! Yes, I'm not kidding it really was butterfly pee which, actually was very good!! However, I think hat something of essence was also added because it tasted very floral. So, the best thing about being at the resort was that I felt all the stress that had been building up on coming over here immediately wash away. The best thing about being there though, was that I did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!! The thing that my Dad and I did was a tour to the RIver Kwai that I found to be slightly disappointing because so was just overly touristy and we, as well of the other people we were with, didn't really have a chance to take everything in. So, besides that, all I really did was lounge around. After the few days in Hua Hin, it was back up to Bangkok where I begun apartment hunting!!! I'll post pictures once I have internet (at Starbucks now) and here's a link to the place I was at in Hua Hin...huahin.anantara.com.

Until next time, take care!

The journey begins!!!!

Greetings All!!

Ok...so here is my first every blog! As I write this, I am actually in DIA waiting for my flight to LAX where I have the JOY of changing terminals for my night/early EARLY AM flight to Bangkok! For those of you that haven't been in the know, or have forgot, Bangkok is where a NEW chapter of my life will officially begin. In fact, that's where my next posting will be from. The next few weeks will be CRAZY so it will probably awhile before I have a chance to post photos or go into detail on anything.
